We are excited to tell you more about Authentic so you can prepare for your visit!
DID YOU KNOW?
Our Sundays gatherings are pretty amazing! Our service usually lasts about an hour-and-a-half. We begin with Spirit-led worship music, share communion together, offer a Bible-based message, and end with prayer and some reflection time in worship. Our service is designed to give space for the Holy Spirit to meet you personally.
Our church is made up of every generation, from babies to seniors, and comes from all walks of life. The word that most people use to describe our church is "FAMILY," and we would love for you to be a part of it!

What to Expect
LOCATION
Authentic Church is located at 721 S Everett High Rd, Maryville TN 37804.
ARRIVAL TIME
Most folks arrive 10-15 minutes before service starts. The coffee is on and the children's ministry check-ins are open. Plus, we are full of friendly people who want to get to know you.
SERVICE TIME
Our service begins every Sunday at 10:00am. Service is also live-streamed on YouTube.
PARKING
Parking is available on site and we offer a wheelchair ramp to access the sanctuary for those who need it.
WHAT TO WEAR
You can dress casually and modestly. Do not feel obligated to dress up to join us. Simply be yourself!
WORSHIP STYLE
Our worship music is a mix of modern and classic, but more than that, led by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we clap and dance, and other times we kneel in reverence and awe.
TEACHING STYLE
The sermon differs each week. Sometimes it's expository and other times topical, but always true to God's Word, relevant, life-giving, and challenging.

Pastors James & Chris

James and Chris Seiler are the lead pastors of Authentic Church in Maryville, Tennessee. After serving in ministry together for over 25 years in Northern California, they felt God leading their family across the country to East Tennessee to start a Spirit-filled church, support fellow ministers, equip believers, and reach the lost. The Knoxville region of East Tennessee has grown exponentially in the last five years, drawing people from all over the country. There is a huge need for people in this region to experience an authentic move of the Holy Spirit. The time is now for the church to create a space for people to be introduced to the Holy Spirit in a non-threatening, non-weird way.

Our Beliefs
BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by humans under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Because it is God-inspired, it is true, without error, and applies to us today.
GOD
There is just one true God. He is great, all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere, holy, and yet, our Father and friend. He is kind, loving, good, faithful, compassionate, and keeps His promises. God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are three-in-one, making up the Trinity.
JESUS
Jesus is the son of God and was human and deity all in one. God sent His Son, Jesus, to the earth as part of His plan to redeem mankind back into right relationship with Him. Jesus was perfect, and died on a cross, then resurrected from the dead, to conquer sin so that we might have eternal life.
HOLY SPIRIT
After Jesus's death, believers were left with Holy Spirit to guide and protect us. He is what many would identify as a "still small voice" who gives us direction, convicts us when we sin, comforts us, and makes us more like Jesus.
MAN
Man was created by God, to look like God's image and to be in relationship with God. But because of sin, a separation exists between God and man. Man cannot bridge that separation on his own.
SALVATION
Man's only hope of reuniting with God and receiving forgiveness for sin is through the shed blood of Jesus. A man receives salvation, or is saved, when he believes, by faith, that Jesus died for his sins and was resurrected for his freedom from sin. Salvation is a free gift, and cannot be earned by anything we do.​
THE CHURCH
Globally, the church is made up of those who believe in Jesus. Locally, the church is a community of unified believers committed to the teachings of Jesus, obeying His commands, and sharing Him with those who do not know Him yet.​

Our Board
Hope Church in Algood, TN serves as a parent-church over Authentic Church in Maryville, TN. Hope Church's board, in partnership with the Assemblies of God, provides oversight to Authentic Church. Hope Church is led by Dr. Jason Yarbrough and his wife, Susan. Jason has over 30 years of ministry experience as a worship leader and senior pastor. He also has a Ph.D. in organizational leadership.
